Patagonia Photography Tour Join me on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure! Your journey will start in the tourist mecca of El Calafate, Argentina. From there we will travel to the town of El Chalten to photograph some of the world’s most majestic and famous mountains, Mount Fitz Roy & Cerro Torre in Los Glaciares National Park. From our lodging in town where we can store our extra gear, we will backpack 5-9 miles into basecamps where we will spend up to 5 nights waiting for perfect weather. The best views of Fitz Roy require walking 1.5 hours uphill before sunrise in order to photograph the dramatic spires from Laguna de los Tres. During the days, we will have a lot of down time with plenty of opportunities for reading & relaxation, as well as meeting other travelers from around the world. Backpacking into Laguna Torre to photograph Cerro Torre will allow us to visit the Torre Glacier for images that only mountian climbers normally get to see. This is a strenuous trip where we will be camping in extreme weather, but the images are worth the effort! As the trip winds down, we should have enough time to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier back in El Calafate before flying home. This trip will challenge you personally, emotionally, and photographically, but it will definitely be a trip that you will remember.
