Home Office Private Photography Instruction

I offer private photography instruction in my home office. My intensive 1-day classes provide an opportunity to improve your technical skills, to hone your vision, and to develop your professional and personal goals. Your session with me will include:

Technical training, including:
• Camera fundamentals, operations, function, and care (Jon uses Canon digital SLRs, but knows Nikon, large format, etc)
• Digital Image Processing: Using Aperture on a Mac, Photoshop
• Color Calibration: Color workflow from monitor to printer calibration
• Digital Printing: Using my 24" wide Epson 7800 printer with custom color profiles

Review of your portfolio, including:
• Technical critique: composition, cropping, depth of field, optimimal lighting
• Discussion of potential markets for your work

Advice on meeting your professional and personal photography goals, including:
• Website design: Benefits & drawbacks of custom versus ready-to-go sites such as Livebooks, SmugMug, etc
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO): How do you get Google, Yahoo, etc to find & rank your site?
• Social networking: Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc.
• Marketing: Who might be interested in buying your work?
