Bald Eagle Photography Tour I will lead you to the small Southeast Alaska town of Haines to photograph the annual gathering of over 2000 bald eagles. A late fall spawning run of chum salmon attracts the largest known congregation of bald eagles in the world. From our base in Haines, we will make daily excursions to areas where eagles gather in large numbers. Due to the short daylight hours at this time of year, we will spend 6-7 hours each day, and then processing images at night. We will photograph the eagles from the very best viewpoints, hoping to capture as many behaviors as possible. We will also photograph the areas specatcular landscape scenery, while hoping that we get a snow storm to round out the experience. The trip requires flying into Juneau on the 14th and then taking the Alaska Marine Highway ferry early on the 15th to Haines. We will have flexibility to our scedule due to our small group size which will allow us to take advantage of the weather conditions and spend the whole day with the eagles. Expect it to be 40 & raining one day, followed by 20 & snow the next. Either way, you will come back with some incredible images of bald eagles.
