| “I believe Jon Cornforth is a name to watch in the world of fine art scenic photography. I think back on my own entry into the world of fine art photography at the age of 30. Of course, at that time I had a lot of youthful exuberance about my own work and believed I would be “the next Ansel Adams”. The excellence of my own work progressed very slowly and 27 years later I am truly at peace with and very proud of what I have accomplished. Then along comes Jon Cornforth. He is the only other photographer I represent at the Mark Bergsma Gallery.
Jon is only 36 and has a long excellent road ahead of him as a photographer. His imagining talents reveal a much more mature level. His work is powerful, sensitive, insightful and energetic. He emotionally connects with his environment, he captures the essence of place and portrays an adventurous spirit. He has mastered modern image making techniques that ranks up there with many nationally known photographers. I am touched with the idea that you will see much more of Jon Cornforth as his career cantors into a world that is like a baseball player going to the majors. Keep both of your eyes on Jon Cornforth.”
- Mark Bergsma, photographer/owner Mark Bergsma Gallery, Bellingham, WA | | “Dana met Jon at the 2005 Issaquah Salmon Days Festival and fell in love with one of his images. A couple of weeks later I was planning an evening out for our anniversary. I called Jon and he invited us into his studio to view more of his work. We had a wonderful time, especially because it was a surprise for Dana. Looking at all his beautiful work was fun, but for us the stories behind the images really brought them to life. Jon told us about his experience taking the pictures we were most interested in. The image Dana had originally fallen in love with wasn’t a good fit for our decorating project at the time; however, we did order an absolutely stunning image of Mt Shuksan. We’ve enjoyed that picture so much that when we moved into a larger home this spring we went back to Jon for the original image she had wanted. The new picture hangs over a rock fireplace in our great room – and makes the room feel immense! Every time I walk into the room I see it and remember the story Jon told us about how he captured that perfect image. We couldn’t be more pleased – Thank you Jon!” - Mitch & Dana Massey, North Bend, WA | | “I first saw one of Jon’s photos on the wall at Free Form Graphics in San Diego, CA. I turned to the CEO, Aaron Fekete, and asked, “Who did this? Me likey!” I was inspired by the emotion and composition of his photography, so I called Jon and spoke to him about working with Adobe on shooting several landscape images for our world renowned Adobe MAX 2006 Designer and Developer conference. He gladly accepted the concept and moved on to provide us with three thematic landscape images that we used to brand the entire show. They were the perfect fit and were used in all mediums including magazine ad’s, Flash media, banners, email, direct mail, and on 100ft presentation screens. This year's MAX Conference in Las Vegas (October 23-26th) was a huge hit, due in part to Jon’s keen eye and amazing photographic abilities. I am now a huge Cornforth Images fan.
I would like to say a special thank you, Jon. Adobe and I look forward to working with you again on next year’s theme.”
- AJ Joseph, Art Director, Adobe Systems Inc. | | “At an art show in South Lake Tahoe during the summer of 2005, Margie and I noticed the beautiful imagery of an artist who photographed the wildflowers of Mount Rainier. When we returned home, we decided that one particular photograph had to become a part of our home. We had not taken his card at the time, so we set out to find the artist. Several weeks later after emailing various photographers, we rediscovered Jon Cornforth.
Jon was very accommodating to our needs including the size of the print, the frame selection, and the glass quality. He was very easy to work with; within a few weeks, our artwork was delivered, and now holds a place of distinction in our Wisconsin home.
One year later, we made it our mission to visit Washington state because of Jon's beautiful images. While in Seattle, we stopped by the Wyland gallery to explore other works of art. The owner informed us that Jon lived only a few minutes from the gallery and wouldn’t mind coming down to meet us. We were delighted to say the least! Jon came by and we rekindled our friendship. The next day, we drove down to Mt Rainier to see it for ourselves. It was a trip to remember." - Steven and Margie Slamar, Waukesha, WI
| | “Jon Cornforth has a way with light and composition that draws you into his photos. The detail and color in his images are incredible as they capture the essence of the untouched places he travels to. We represent many photographers, but Jon’s images bring us something different. The quality of his work is matched by few others. He has the ability to see beyond the camera which makes you stop and immerse yourself in his art. Jon is a true professional and we look forward to when he and his family come visit us in Hawaii."

| | “I first had the opportunity to work with Jon when he entered the 2004 Banff Mountain Photography Competition. During the first viewing of his entry, I knew that Jon's work would go far in the competition. And so it did, winning a 'Special Mention' in his very first year of entering. Most photographers enter for years before creating an image that will catch the jury's eyes. Over the years, I have seen many of Jon's images, and each one is as captivating as the next. I find that his images have such great depth, and that they pull the viewer deep inside to a new world - whether that be volacanoes in Hawaii, mountains in Alaska, or petroglyphs in California. Jon seems to have a unique style; so unique, that I have actually unknowingly seen his work in galleries and known instantly that it was his. Jon is a talented photographer with incredible passion for his subject matter. I look forward to seeing his future work, and visiting the world's many wonders through his lens." - Charla Sharp Tomlinson, Banff International Mountain Film Festival, AB | | “I own a graphics marketing company in San Diego and Jon’s art has a profound effect on my business and life. Jon’s images have an exceptional and unparalleled “awe” factor that compliments both our clients marketing and advertising needs, as well as being the spotlight for discussion in my office and my home. It is impossible for people to walk by one of his photos and not take notice. The profound mood that he captures in his photos is so inspiring, it makes me feel as if I am with him on his travels around the world.” - Aaron Fekete, owner Freeform, San Diego, CA |

“My husband and I will be retiring to the Big Island of Hawaii in just a few years. We were looking for large images to place on our walls in Seattle to remind us of our future home. We found Jon’s images of Hawaii to be perfect for us. He truly has the eye to capture nature’s wonder. His beautiful work does not stop with the click of the shutter. His simplistic, yet masterful framing techniques are extremely professional and add to the beauty of his images.” - Anne & John Cole, Seattle, WA
“No one. No one. No one gives us the intimate photographs of Hawaii's gentle giants that Jon does. His whale photographs are breathtaking and alive. It's as close to a humpback as most of us will ever be fortunate enough to get. When I first met Jon, his unearthly and truly extraordinary photographs captivated me. It wasn't until later that I found out that he's a totally enjoyable dude as well! When I see Jon's work, I can't figure out if I want to take up photography to see if I can possibly comprehend the planet as he does ... or just realize it's best to see it through his eyes.” - Joan Channon, owner Bamboo Gallery, Hawi, HI
“I'm a psychotherapist, so I sit in a room all day long. I'm also a lifelong backpacker, hiker, cross-country skier, climber, and I long to be outdoors rather than inside. To cope with this situation, I bought three of Jon's photos - two of mountains, one of a stream - and hung them on one wall of my therapy office where I can look at them all day long. The richness, vividness, and immediacy of the images bring me as close as I can get to nature without actually being there! My clients find them simultaneously soothing and inspiring. It's the best investment I've made in my work life.” - Deborah Woolley, Seattle, WA
“I chose Jon's work for the unique freshness he brings to each photo. Each picture has a "wow" factor that allows my customers and I to experience a whole new place. The care and meticulousness he uses for each shot reflects his passion and deep understanding of the environment he is capturing. We are all fortunate to share in his travels.” - Denton Kiehle, owner Wyland Gallery, Seattle, WA
“I have had the pleasure of traveling and shooting with Jon from the top of a fiery volcano to snorkeling in the presence of humpback whales. It has been a pleasure traveling with Jon and seeing his wonderful images afterwards.” - Stuart Westmorland, photographer, Mill Creek, WA
“As a publisher of many photographers' works, I've had the pleasure of getting to know Jon personally and showcase his fine art in note card fashion. He is both personable and professional, and his hard work and keen eye make him one of the best Northwest photographers I've come to know. His images are among the most popular in my card line. Jon is destined to go very far in the industry; his passion and pursuit of excellence in every detail of his photography should guarantee this." - Tom Haseltine, photographer/publisher, Seattle, WA
